Sometimes, when there is no clear cut pattern of a primary headache emerging from the history, there may be a need to investigate further with a CT head scan or MRI Brain. Because there are some conditions better seen on CT and many conditions better seen on MR and because these are times when a contrast dye may need to be injected to visualize certain abnormalities, it is best that your specialist decides what type of scan is required to diagnose your headache and refer you accordingly. |
