| When migraine patients do not respond adequately with routine pharmacological treatment options, or when they present with headache as more than 15/30 days (chronic migraine) then we have to look at other options such as Botulinum toxin which is more popular by the trade name BOTOX. Some patients benefit with blocking of the occipital nerve or by using a pacemaker implant – the occipital nerve stimulator. For intractable cluster headache, deep brain stimulation is one of the options. Both these are available through our headache center. |
